A Light Heart
I was lost and wond’ring in
This dangerous world, so all alone,
Trying on my own to make the
Journey that would lead me home.
But I couldn’t see the way
For around me all was dark.
Then in the distance, but coming closer
I saw the light of one pure heart.
When he reached my side he told me
Of his love for those like me
And he told me of one called Jesus,
Who shared his light that all might see.
And since that day, though he’s gone on,
I have a light so strong and true
That I can see the pathway clearly
And lead others homeward too.
And I know that when the journey
Seems too hard for me to bear,
I can turn and rest in Jesus.
He will always be right there.
I’m falling back to rest in Jesus
Trusting him to lift me up.
Falling back, for I have pressed on
In my own strength long enough.
