Turn Your Heart
There comes a time in every Christian's life
When troubles of this world come pressing in.
As quickly as a flood they will rise,
And there'll seem no way to win.
The shield of faith I've lowered for a moment.
This is Satan’s opportunity.
The fiery darts he throws against me
Are giving him the victory.
That's when I turn my heart to you, Lord,
And lift my voice to you in praise.
I feel your love surround me.
Satan flees and spirits raise.
I try so hard, my Lord, to be faithful,
And for a while it seems I'm doing well.
But then I slip and Satan chides me,
"He doesn't love you. You’re going to hell!
How could you think that he would love you,
When you can't do anything right?
He told you to stand until the end,
But you've surrendered at the first fight."
I begin to get discouraged
Then I remember these words:
I have the victory in Jesus,
And the battle is the Lord's.
That's when I turn my heart to you, Lord,
And lift my voice to you in praise.
I feel your love surround me.
Satan flees and spirits raise.
I know, my friend, that you will feel discouraged,
And you'll see no way to win.
Only remember God's promises.
Realize that you can start again.
And turn your heart to the Lord.
Lift your voice to him in praise.
You will feel his love surround you.
Satan will flee and spirits raise.
